Suzanne D. Cormier, PhD.Partner
Suzanne Cormier is an educator with over 25 years of experience in public schools and higher education. As a former guidance counselor, and, more recently as an adjunct professor of educational psychology at Winthrop University, Suzanne understands the developmental needs of children and adolescents. She teaches graduate classes to teachers and administrators on child development and motivation with focused attention to schooling environments that best support student needs. Suzanne’s son is a CMS graduate who attends college and her daughter is a CMS high school student. Suzanne has served on several CMS School Leadership Teams, collaborating with other parents and teachers for school improvement. Suzanne is also a licensed professional counselor and a board certified coach who enjoys helping young people and their families tackle life transitions successfully.
Amanda D. Raymond, JD.Partner
Amanda “Boo” Raymond began her career as an elementary teacher and has over 15 years of experience in public schools. As a volunteer child advocate with the Council for Children’s Rights for over ten years, Boo has fought tirelessly for the rights of children in difficult domestic situations. She spends her free time as a gymnastics coach with the Harris YMCA, coaching children of all ages. Boo’s daughter graduated from a CMS high school and is attending college at North Carolina State University. Boo’s younger daughter is a student in a CMS high school. Boo has served on several non-profit boards, whose aim is to educate future generations of young citizens. Boo is also a licensed attorney. She also tutors high school students in a variety of subjects, including the SAT and ACT. Boo’s interest in advocating for children also extends to her extensive work through the League of Women Voters, where Boo has been the producer for local and state televised political debates for over ten years.
Rachel Hunt, JD, C.C.C.Partner
Rachel Hunt has been an attorney since 1994. She worked in domestic law helping families work through the pain of separation and divorce using tools like mediation for 15 years. When her children were small she decided to keep her license but focus her energy full time on parenting. She was active in CMS PTA and SLT school volunteer jobs and now volunteers on the Board of her son’s charter school in Charlotte. Her daughter graduated from a CMS high school last year and is in college and her son is in high school. Rachel became an education advocate through work with the public school system and the League of Women Voters and co-created a website, truthforteachers.org. She became interested in college counseling while helping her daughter find a college last year and finished a Certificate in College Counseling from UCLA in December which included an internship at The Fletcher School in Charlotte, North Carolina. She owns Hunt For College, L.L.C.
